Chocolate Orange Cookie Clusters

This recipe is a yummy combo of chocolate and orange creating a delicious cookie cluster. Bake them for a shorter time for a moist, rich treat or add a few minutes and it creates a firmer cookie great for dipping in coffee or hot chocolate!

Chocolate Orange Cookie Clusters

This recipe makes 18 cookies at 174 calories each.

Ingredients:

  • 170g dark chocolate, chopped up
  • 2 Tbs (28g) butter)
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • zest of 1 orange
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbs milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose or plain flour
  • 3 Tbs cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 200g orange chocolate, chopped up (I used Terry’s Chocolate Orange)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 C or 325 F and line two baking trays with baking paper.
  2. In a double boiler or the microwave, melt together the dark chocolate and butter and mix until smooth.                                      DSC_0216
  3. Whisk in the vanilla, sugar and orange zest which will make a dry, thick mixture. DSC_0217
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, stirring until well incorporated each time.

  6. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa and salt.            DSC_0218
  7. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until just combined.
  8. Mix in the the chopped up orange chocolate.
  9. Spoon the batter into the lumps on the baking tray.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  11. Let cool and serve!
