Day 6: Salted Caramel Chocolate Pretzel Bites

These are a really fun and easy little christmas treat to make for christmas nibbles. Or you could decorate them and package them up for a yummy edible Christmas gift! I got the idea from here.

The pretzel bites take very little time to make, you could probably make them in under a half hour, so this is a really good last minute thing to make if you are running low on time. It is also a fun way to use the salted caramel sauce I previously posted about!

Be careful because these are incredibly easy to just keep eating and eating.

  2. If using the salted caramel sauce, warm the sauce and spoon a lump onto each and let set (5-10 minutes).
    • If you use pre-made caramels you are going to need to cut them in half and put a half on each pretzel and then warm in the oven for about 5-10 minutes until the caramel starts to melt.dsc_0128
  3. While the caramel sets, melt the dark chocolate and butter in a double boiler on the stove.
  4. Now dip the caramel pretzels into the chocolate so they are half covered, scraping the excess chocolate off the bottom and putting them back on the baking tray.dsc_0136
  5. You can sprinkle over festive sprinkles while the chocolate is still liquid.
  6. Let the chocolate set in the fridge for about 20 minutes and then remove, so the caramel isn’t hard when you bite them.
